Vista Beta 2 not installing

I'm trying to install Windows Vista Ulitmate Beta 2 on a machine and I'm getting a couple different errors.
1) When trying to boot the machine up, I get a Windows Boot Manager error stating that it doesn't like one of the removeable devices.
2) When trying to upgrade a Windows XP SP2 box, the install gets thru the copying of files and then gets an error stating "An error occuring while laying images down". And the instal bails.
Anyone know how to fix these?

Even in released versions of Windows today this tends to happen. You could try removing the devices and boot up then reinstall their drivers or check for new ones. Its best you unplugg removable devices before installing Windows, unknown conflicts can take place that cause installation failure and make it more difficult to diagnose problems.

A lot of persons have been experiencing upgrade failure with BETA 2. Best recommendation is to install on a clean partition or hard disk and try the upgrade process again in a later build. --

Thanks, with the help!
I tried the fresh install on a new drive and it worked fine. I did find that I had to re-run the install a couple times before it worked though but it is up and working now.
Thank
you!
